Worth the wait of fifteen years: Ulver Live

Ulver’s first show in fifteen years according to the Roadburn Blog. Great visuals and light effects. Ulver‘s music is of course outstanding. Too bad the video and sound quality are not too good.

Anyway check it out, and help us hope they will start playing more live.

Win: 2×2 Bidi-Bookings anniversary (Dÿse and more) @ W2 Den Bosch tickets

You can rock on your own, with a beatlesque four or just with two mofo’s. Less is more, you know. Dÿse (on Myspace) is a two-man band, formed in the Spring of 2003 and named after the Dysecatmotel in Amsterdam where they’d first met. It began as a fun, drunken side project for Jari Rebelein and André Dietrich who wanted a new musical challenge and a chance to write songs with no limitations. They did some massive touring the past years, the response to the shows was overwhelming as audiences everywhere were blown away by this unique, energetic and incredibly entertaining duo. Think punk meets hardcore meets powerrock or Lightning Bolt light, as some might say.

You could have seen them at ZXZW 2007, but on May 23rd they’re performing at the 7,5 years anniversary of Bidi-Bookings, the great Tilburg booking agency.

Also performing are Astrosoniq, Gomer Pyle (as seen at Roadburn 2009), The Liszt and Duffhuës.

We’re giving away 2×2 tickets for this event on Saturday May 23rd at W2 Den Bosch!

All you have to do: send an e-mail to win AT zxzw DOT nl and the first two contestants will win two tickets!

Good luck!

How to get roadburned

The Devil's Blood

Missed Roadburn last week, or want to relive the festival you just came home from? Read a nice review here (day 1) and here (day 2):

“It’s really easy to tell as you walk around Tilburg who is here for Roadburn and who isn’t. Even when I first got here from Amsterdam on the train, the front of the station looked like an Eyehategod show could have broken out at any minute, all the bearded longhairs and black t-shirts, including my own, standing around looking for a bus or a cab. Like some kind of convention for the International Society Of Social Awkwardness. But oh, we do have a good time.”

More here, with photos by our very own Erik (just like the one on  top of The Devil’s Blood shot at this Roadburn). More photo’s here and on erikluyten.nl tomorrow!

Roadburn 2009: Seven That Spells

We’re all looking forward to the sold out Roadburn Festival 2009, from Thursday to Saturday at 013, Tilburg. This week, we will highlight a few artists that will perform during the three days in stoner-heaven.

At V39, the new Roadburn venue on the other side of the road at 013, Seven That Spells (ZXZW 2008) will perform. They formed in 2003 in Zagreb, Croatia as an international commune of psychedelic likeminds exploring the multifaceted cosmos of freak out music and naked women in high hopes of achieving Buddha’s blessing!
